Imagine yourself on a romantic rustic retreat on a 20 acre property in an amazing vintage trailer compound that’s only 45 minutes from Austin and 10 minutes from downtown Wimberley and its fine restaurants and fun excursions. The Boca Chica property includes access to 20 lovely private acres of Hill Country tranquility surrounded by wildlife and overlooking a (seasonal) pond and small valley that are part of the Mi Cielo ranchette.
You can sit on your private deck outside this totally renovated and transformed vintage Streamline travel trailer situated on top of a hill and look for the deer, turkey and other wildlife that often comes to the feeder below. Or you can walk the trails of the property and get a closer view of the nature that surrounds you. On your walk, if you are there at the right time - you might be able to stop by the pear tree in the middle of the little valley and pick a pear or two for your afternoon snack or breakfast.
After your walk you might enjoy an outdoor solar shower with a view of the countryside and later this year a relaxing dip in our hot tub (on order but not yet installed). There is an indoor trailer bathroom as well of course but the outside shower and fully plumbed outhouse make the “country” feeling complete. Later in the evening you can grill on the propane barbeque grill under the party lights and later turn the lights out and sit around the fire pit looking at the myriad of stars in the dark night sky.
During the day you have a plethora of options to the surrounding sites and excursions. Some of our favorites include the Blue Hole park where you swim in a deep, cool, spring fed stream and lay down on a grassy knoll under the cypress trees to soak in the sun and the marvelous nature around you. Others include Jacobs Well park and swim hole, multiple wineries and fine restaurants in and around Wimberley and surrounding towns, the shops of downtown Wimberley and the first weekend a month market that attracts folks from all over Texas and beyond.
You might also decide to stay put right there at Boca Chica and read a book or relax in your little private piece of nature's paradise. But don’t look for a large screen TV or a great internet connection. This is a country escape after all. Your phone should work here and if you have a Hot Spot option you can watch the smart TV in the trailer or use the internet via your phone but we recommend turning all that off—tuning out and enjoying a total rustic-country experience.
