About
After owning or managing various ranch and recreational properties in Texas, Africa and Europe Lee and Sue Kay decided to make the Texas Hill Country their home and focus on helping others find, manage or sell their piece of Western heritage. Sue is a talented and award winning decorator and landscape designer who grew up on Texas ranches and has spent a lifetime investing in real estate. Lee had spent the last 12 years between Africa, the Middle East and Texas running his own faith-based non profit and acting as an international consultant and risk manager for select clients. Lee is also a big game hunter and security professional who has owned Texas ranch properties and businesses for more than 30 years and is also now a real estate agent-professional. They recruited other like-minded individuals with extensive knowledge, love and experience in various aspects of the Ranch Real Estate and Property Management and Development sectors and started Mi Cielo Ranches as a vehicle to bring together buyers and sellers with a love for the outdoors and for preserving the land, wildlife and ranching traditions of the West while providing consulting and advisory services to those looking to find or optimize ranch or wildlife managed property . Mi Cielo Ranches was started in 2014 and begun by developing certain Wimberley and Leakey Hill Country "ranchette" properties for weekly rentals and wildlife use. One of those properties, managed for wildlife, is now the home of The Old Gringo Cantina - an adorable Mexicano "folk" vernacular building designed as a pied a terre for a few romantic getaway days in the Hill country.
